Chhattisgarh Issues Draft Grid Code 2026 to Strengthen Power System Operations
July 1, 2026
The Chhattisgarh State Electricity Regulatory Commission (CSERC) has released the Draft Chhattisgarh State Electricity Grid Code, 2026, inviting comments from stakeholders on a proposed framework to improve the planning, operation, and reliability of the state’s electricity network. The draft seeks to align Chhattisgarh’s grid regulations with the latest national standards while supporting secure and efficient transmission system operations.
The proposed regulations introduce updated operational guidelines for transmission utilities, distribution companies, generating stations, and other grid users connected to the state’s transmission system. The draft also includes provisions to better accommodate renewable energy projects, energy storage systems, scheduling requirements, and grid security measures as the state’s power infrastructure continues to evolve.
Industry observers believe the updated grid code will help create a more resilient electricity network while supporting the integration of clean energy resources across Chhattisgarh. Stakeholders have been invited to submit their feedback before the regulations are finalized, ensuring the framework reflects both operational requirements and the state’s long-term energy transition goals.
