NTPC Green Energy has commissioned the first 50.4 MW phase of its Vanki Wind Energy Project in Gujarat, marking another milestone in India’s renewable energy expansion. The project is located in Nakhatrana, Kutch district, and has officially commenced commercial operations.

The project is being developed through NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy. With this latest capacity addition, the company’s total operational renewable energy portfolio has increased from 10,671.40 MW to 10,721.80 MW (10.72 GW), reinforcing its position as one of India’s leading renewable energy developers.

Strengthening India’s Renewable Energy Growth

The commissioning reflects NTPC Green Energy’s continued investment in utility-scale wind and solar projects across the country. Expanding renewable capacity supports India’s clean energy goals by reducing dependence on fossil fuels while increasing the availability of sustainable electricity for homes, businesses, and industries.

Official Regulatory Disclosure

The company confirmed the commissioning through a regulatory filing with the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), in accordance with applicable disclosure requirements. Commercial operations for the newly commissioned capacity became effective on July 8, 2026.

Continued Expansion Pipeline

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited has also been actively expanding its renewable energy portfolio through new solar and wind initiatives. Recent developments include signing a 1,200 MW solar power purchase agreement (PPA) with PTC India and inviting bids for 900 MW of grid-connected solar projects in Andhra Pradesh, highlighting the company’s long-term commitment to clean energy development.
