Infineon Partners with Zenergize to Boost India’s Clean Energy Technology

News Date March 21, 2026

German semiconductor company Infineon Technologies AG has partnered with Indian firm Zenergize to support the development of advanced power-electronics solutions for India’s clean energy transition. The collaboration focuses on enabling locally designed and manufactured technologies for sectors such as solar power, electric vehicle charging, and energy storage. The announcement was made during the Bharat Electricity Summit 2026 in New Delhi, highlighting growing efforts to strengthen India’s domestic technology capabilities.

Under the partnership, Infineon will supply its advanced wide-bandgap semiconductor technologies, including silicon carbide (SiC) components, along with technical and engineering support. These technologies are expected to improve the efficiency, reliability, and performance of power-electronics systems used in renewable energy applications. Compared to traditional materials, SiC-based components offer higher energy efficiency, lower power losses, and better performance under demanding conditions.

The collaboration aims to help Zenergize design and manufacture products such as solar inverters, EV fast chargers, and energy storage systems tailored to Indian operating conditions. These systems are expected to perform better in environments with high temperatures, voltage fluctuations, and space constraints, which are common in many parts of the country.

Both companies clarified that the agreement is focused on technology integration and product development, and does not involve forming a joint venture. Infineon will provide semiconductor components and technical expertise, while Zenergize will continue to design and manufacture products in India.

The partnership comes at a time when India’s renewable energy sector is expanding rapidly, increasing the demand for efficient and reliable power-electronics systems. Government initiatives and rising adoption of solar energy, electric mobility, and energy storage solutions are driving this growth.

Industry experts say the collaboration will help strengthen India’s domestic manufacturing ecosystem and reduce dependence on imported technologies. By combining global semiconductor expertise with local design capabilities, the partnership is expected to support India’s long-term goal of building a self-reliant and technologically advanced clean energy sector.
