Adani Green Achieves Record 5 GW Capacity Addition in FY26, Accelerates Khavda Hybrid Hub
April 1, 2026
Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has set a new benchmark for the global renewable sector, adding a staggering 5 GW of operational capacity in the 2025-26 financial year (FY26) alone. This rapid expansion brings the company’s total portfolio to over 15 GW, solidifying its position as one of the world’s fastest-growing renewable energy platforms. The centerpiece of this growth remains the Khavda Renewable Energy Park in Gujarat, where AGEL is transforming a vast stretch of barren land into a multi-gigawatt solar-wind hybrid hub that will eventually power millions of homes.
What distinguishes this latest expansion is the significant push toward Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Recognizing that the next phase of the energy transition requires “firm and dispatchable” power, Adani Green is integrating large-scale storage at the Khavda site. This move allows the company to store excess solar and wind energy generated during the day and release it during peak demand hours, effectively addressing the intermittency challenge that has traditionally limited the large-scale adoption of renewable power on the national grid.
The scale of the Khavda project—slated to reach a total capacity of 30 GW—is being supported by advanced indigenous manufacturing and digital grid management tools. By controlling the entire value chain, from high-efficiency module production to long-term operations and maintenance, AGEL is driving down the levelized cost of energy while ensuring high plant availability. For the Indian energy market, Adani’s record-breaking FY26 performance is more than just a corporate milestone; it’s a clear demonstration that the infrastructure and technology required for a 24/7 green grid are now being deployed at a truly industrial scale.
