AMPIN's 50 MWp Solar Plant Goes Live in Chhattisgarh, Powers Industries with Clean Energy
September 3, 2025
New Delhi / Bemetara, — AMPIN Energy Transition has commissioned a 50 MWp open-access solar plant in Village Gatapar, Bemetara district, Chhattisgarh — its first solar project in the state and a significant step into India’s eastern renewable-energy market.
The plant will provide green power to Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd and a major steel manufacturer, producing around 78.21 million units of clean electricity per year. According to AMPIN, the project was completed in a record nine months, demonstrating the efficiency of execution by the company.
Beyond increasing the supply of renewable energy, the project is expected to reduce carbon emissions by about 64,132 tonnes of CO₂ per year, thus bringing both economic and environmental benefits. By allowing industrial consumers to replace more than 80% of conventional grid power with solar, AMPIN says the move could yield 30–40% savings on electricity costs compared to prevailing tariffs charged by distribution utilities.
Commenting on the milestone, the Founder and CEO of AMPIN, Pinaki Bhattacharyya, said the new plant underlines the firm’s commitment to furthering India’s sustainability ambitions, coupled with expanding its footprint in Eastern India. Meanwhile, according to Avijit Mitra, Chief Executive, Steel Foundry Division, Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd., this tie-up marks an important stride toward “green manufacturing” and low carbon footprints at its Raipur unit.
Going forward, AMPIN is already working on additional capacity in Chhattisgarh — the firm says that a 21 MWp project is under construction and another 100 MWp renewable capacity is being developed.
This development not only strengthens AMPIN’s growing renewable-energy portfolio across India but also reflects the rising industrial interest in open-access solar under favorable policy frameworks-a trend likely to accelerate in the coming years.
