Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has invited a public tender for the supply of renewable electricity under green-energy open access for two of its buildings in Pune, in a move that signifies pushing toward cleaner energy sourcing. The tender covers the Regional Telecom Training Center (RTTC), Chinchwad, and the MHS Telephone Exchange, Pune. While the RTTC site requires about 70,000 units per month, roughly ₹3.18 crore, the MHS Exchange needs 200,000 units monthly, roughly ₹5.62 crore.

Eligible bidders – Indian-registered, independent power producers, DISCOMs or licensed power traders with prior green-power open access experience – may bid for either one or both sites. The financial scope entails at least a net worth equivalent to 30% of quoted capacity and specific turnover thresholds for each site, as well as working capital or line-of-credit equivalent to 30% of the quoted capacity. The contract duration is for a period of three years, extendable by another three years. A two-envelope format bid is invited herein, including technical/ qualification and financial. The evaluation criterion is a percentage discount over the prevailing tariff of DISCOM, with the supply quantity allowed to vary ±25%.

Other key conditions: Green-power supply shall commence within three months of LOI, PR must be at least 90%, and shortfall shall attract penalty ranging from 2% to 10% of the shortfall value (progressively in case of repeated defaults). Payment to the supplier will be on invoice basis via ECS within 10–15 days, with no advance payments.
