NTPC Renewable Energy Seeks Solar Panel Suppliers for 400 MW Project in Uttar Pradesh

News Date February 6, 2026

New Delhi — NTPC Renewable Energy (NREL) has issued a tender inviting companies to supply high-capacity solar panels for a 400 MW solar power project in Chitrakoot, Uttar Pradesh, as part of India’s ongoing expansion of utility-scale renewable energy capacity. The tender specifies the supply of bifacial crystalline solar modules with a minimum power rating of 570 watts peak (Wp), and bidders must submit their proposals by March 2, 2026.

Under the tender conditions, interested suppliers are required to provide a bid security of ₹200 million (about $2.2 million) before participating in the bidding process. The scope of work includes the manufacture, packaging and delivery of the solar modules to the project site, meeting technical and quality standards set by the procurement agency.

To qualify, bidders must demonstrate experience in producing and delivering a sufficient volume of solar modules or cells, with a minimum cumulative supply of 200 MWp within any 12-month period over the past five years. At least one individual order must have been for 50 MWp or more, and other orders must have been for at least 10 MWp. Additionally, suppliers must have an annual manufacturing capacity exceeding their quoted amount by a set margin and meet financial criteria including net worth and turnover requirements.

The modules and cells offered under the tender must comply with the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) Lists I and II, ensuring they meet India’s regulatory standards for solar equipment. This demand reflects NTPC REL’s strategy to secure quality components for its large-scale renewable projects and supports the broader national goal of increasing clean energy generation.

Bids will be opened on the same day as the submission deadline (March 2, 2026), and the tender forms part of a series of similar requests from NREL for module supplies across various solar parks in Uttar Pradesh and other states.
