NTPC Seeks Developers for Green Ammonia and Green Methanol Projects in Andhra Pradesh
February 25, 2026
NTPC Green Energy (a subsidiary of state-owned NTPC Ltd.) has issued a request for proposals (RFP) to attract project developers for setting up green ammonia and green methanol production facilities at the Pudimadaka Green Hydrogen Hub in Andhra Pradesh. The tender offers two separate parcels of land — one each for ammonia and methanol projects — with up to 30 acres allocated for each development opportunity at the hydrogen hub near Visakhapatnam.
Interested bidders can submit proposals for either one or both parcels, but those placing first in the ranking process will be awarded only a single parcel. The initiative is part of a broader push to develop the Pudimadaka hub as a major centre for green hydrogen and derivative chemicals including ammonia and methanol, leveraging renewable power and supporting India’s clean energy goals.
The process invites global participation to promote investment in green chemical manufacturing tied to renewable energy and hydrogen production infrastructure. Earlier announcements have highlighted plans for the hydrogen hub to produce green chemicals at scale, underlining Andhra Pradesh’s role in advancing clean fuels and export-oriented energy projects.
