Punjab Power Utility Seeks Bids for 500 MW Solar Energy Projects

News Date January 6, 2026

Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has issued a fresh tender inviting companies to bid for the supply of 500 megawatts (MW) of solar power on a long-term basis, aiming to boost renewable energy in the state. Interested firms must submit their proposals by February 16, 2026, and bids will be opened on February 18, 2026 as part of the competitive selection process.

Under the tender terms, developers can propose solar projects located anywhere in India, with each individual project having at least 50 MW capacity and total offered capacity capped at 250 MW per bidder. Participants are required to deposit an earnest money amount and processing fee, and successful applicants must provide a performance bank guarantee before signing a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with PSPCL.

The tender aims to support PSPCL’s renewable purchase obligations and future clean energy needs by attracting qualified developers with strong financial credentials, including a minimum net worth and turnover tied to the capacity they propose. Bidders must also handle all technical, financial and regulatory aspects, including grid connectivity and project clearances.

Selected projects will be expected to supply solar power under the long-term PPA, with bidders free to avail of applicable fiscal incentives and support under state and central renewable energy schemes.
