Reliance to Invest US$84.3 Billion in AI and Clean Energy in Gujarat Over Five Years
January 12, 2026
Reliance Industries Ltd has announced a major expansion of its investment plans in the Indian state of Gujarat, committing about US$84.3 billion (around ₹7 lakh crore) over the next five years to boost artificial intelligence and clean energy projects, company officials said at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference. The enlarged investment is nearly double its previous commitment and aims to accelerate digital growth and sustainable energy development in the region.
The investment program, unveiled by Reliance Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani, will focus on building critical infrastructure for next-generation technology and renewable energy. A key part of this plan includes the development of an AI-ready data center in Jamnagar, designed to support advanced computing and digital services that can be used across various sectors.
The AI facilities are expected to support a new platform that delivers artificial intelligence services in multiple Indian languages on personal devices, making digital tools more accessible and inclusive for a broader population. Beyond technology, the funds will also support community development, sports infrastructure, and regional capacity building, aligning with long-term goals for sustainable and balanced growth across India. Reliance’s expanded commitment underscores Gujarat’s role as a central hub for emerging industrial, digital, and clean energy infrastructure, and reflects the company’s strategy to combine technology and sustainability in its future investments.
