Suzlon Energy Ltd. has announced a major leadership restructuring as part of its Suzlon 2.0 transformation aimed at evolving the company into a comprehensive renewable energy solutions provider. The board approved the appointment of Ajay Kapur as the new Group Chief Executive Officer (Group CEO), effective February 24, 2026, and elevated J.P. Chalasani to the newly formed Group Executive Council to focus on long-term strategic priorities.
Under the updated leadership structure, Kapur — a seasoned executive with more than 36 years of experience across sectors including infrastructure, construction, power and heavy industries — will steer Suzlon’s shift beyond wind energy into solar, battery energy storage systems and other emerging clean-energy businesses. He succeeds in a role that will report to the company’s Chairman and Managing Director. Chalasani, who continues as a Key Managerial Personnel (KMP), will play a central role in guiding enterprise-wide strategy, portfolio direction and capital allocation as part of the Group Executive Council.
The board also appointed Girish Vanvari as an Independent Director for a five-year term, strengthening governance and oversight frameworks. The reorganised leadership model supports Suzlon’s goal of long-term value creation and its ambitions to expand in the global renewable energy market, integrating strategic direction with operational growth as demand for clean energy technologies rises.
