Suzlon’s 1,325 MW Wind Projects Mark New Phase in Andhra Pradesh’s Clean Energy Growth

Andhra Pradesh is entering a new phase of clean-energy development as Suzlon moves forward with 1,325 MW of wind energy projects in Anantapur district.
The projects represent a major renewable-energy investment in the state and are expected to strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s position as an emerging hub for clean-energy generation, manufacturing and green employment. State minister Nara Lokesh highlighted the projects as an important milestone in the state’s renewable-energy journey.
The development involves an investment reported at around ₹10,500 crore and is expected to create approximately 1,600 direct and indirect jobs, according to reports on the project launch.
Alongside the wind projects, Suzlon has expanded its smart blade manufacturing facility in Anantapur with two additional production lines, strengthening the renewable-energy manufacturing ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh.
The clean-energy expansion also has a strong focus on workforce development. Through the Andhra Pradesh government’s partnership with Suzlon, around 12,000 young people, including 25% women, are being trained for green-energy jobs, with skill-development centres supporting engineers and technicians for the renewable-energy sector.
The larger significance goes beyond wind capacity alone. The combination of renewable-energy projects, local manufacturing and green-skills development reflects how India’s energy transition is increasingly becoming an industrial-development opportunity.
As Andhra Pradesh expands its industrial, technology and infrastructure sectors, investments in renewable generation will play an increasingly important role in providing the clean and reliable electricity needed for future growth.
