VinEnergo Sets Out Global Clean Energy Plan With First 10 GW Projects

News Date March 4, 2026

Hanoi — Vietnamese energy company VinEnergo has unveiled a major global expansion strategy, starting with a portfolio of renewable power projects totalling 10 gigawatts (GW) that have secured signed agreements for development across Asian and European markets, official sources said.

Under its long-term plan, VinEnergo aims to grow its installed renewable capacity to 100 GW over the next three years, positioning itself as a major international clean-energy developer. Around 50 GW of this will be in key regions including North America, Northern Europe, the Mediterranean and Southeast Asia, where demand for clean power is rising sharply and supportive policies are in place. The company also plans to explore opportunities in Central Asia and Africa.

VinEnergo will lead most projects with more than 80 % ownership and take responsibility for financing, construction and ongoing operation. Some developments are already under way and expected to begin operations between 2027 and 2028, leveraging its in-house battery storage and technical expertise to ensure reliability and efficiency. By signing partnerships with international financiers and energy firms, VinEnergo seeks to support clean electricity access, advance global net-zero goals and strengthen its role in shaping future energy policy.
