Suzlon Energy Unveils ‘Wind 2.0’ Strategy to Strengthen Wind Power Business and Expand Offerings
January 20, 2026
Suzlon Energy, one of India’s long-established wind turbine manufacturers, has announced a renewed strategic focus on its core wind power business under a new “Wind 2.0” initiative while preparing broader expansion plans through a parallel “Suzlon 2.0” programmers, the company’s leadership said at the World Economic Forum annual meeting.
According to Vice-Chairman Girish Tanti, Suzlon’s Wind 2.0 strategy aims to modernise and diversify its wind energy operations by strengthening product development, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services, digital transformation, customer value delivery and workplace safety. The Suzlon 2.0 initiative will look beyond wind power into adjacent energy areas to capture new growth opportunities.
Tanti noted that Suzlon, which has been operating for over 30 years and is among the few global players in the wind sector, is evolving at a time when India is rapidly expanding renewable energy capacity and aiming for carbon neutrality by 2070. Renewables now supply a large share of the country’s electricity, and wind turbines installed today can generate enough energy to power entire villages.
The leadership highlighted that India has the potential to meet about 10 % of global wind energy demand via exports and that more than 2,500 micro and small enterprises are part of Suzlon’s supply chain. While Wind 2.0 will strengthen Suzlon’s traditional business, digital and service-oriented enhancements under Suzlon 2.0 are expected to support future growth and enable the company to serve expanding energy markets.
Industry analysts see these strategic moves as part of Suzlon’s effort to capitalize on rising domestic and global demand for wind power solutions while navigating competitive pressures and technological shifts in the broader renewable energy landscape.
