Argentina’s Ambassador to India, Mariano Caucino, has praised the Khavda Solar Park in Gujarat, calling the massive renewable energy project a major achievement that can supply power to millions of Indian households. In a message on social media, he congratulated the developers and highlighted the park’s role in furthering clean energy goals in India.

Caucino described the Khavda facility launched in 2020 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and backed by the Adani Group as poised to become the world’s largest hybrid renewable energy park, generating electricity from both solar panels and wind turbines. He said the scale and ambition of the project impressed him and could serve as a key contributor to India’s efforts to increase renewable power generation.

Officials say the Khavda Renewable Energy Park, planned for tens of gigawatts of capacity in the Kutch district, is part of broader national aims to cut reliance on fossil fuels. India has set targets to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2070 and to have half of its electricity supplied by renewable sources by 2030. Gujarat currently leads several renewable sectors, including total installed renewable capacity, wind power, and rooftop solar installations, contributing significantly to these national objectives.
