March 19, 2026
The central government has confirmed that no renewable energy projects in Telangana have been cancelled, delayed, or suspended over the past three years. The statement was made in Parliament in response to a question regarding the status of clean energy projects in the state, providing reassurance about the steady progress of renewable initiatives in the region.
Union Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy and Power Shripad Yesso Naik informed the Lok Sabha that all grid-connected renewable energy projects in Telangana are progressing without any major issues. The clarification came after concerns were raised about possible delays or cancellations, particularly in areas such as Warangal.
According to the government, none of the projects faced problems related to financial constraints, technical difficulties, or implementation challenges. Data collected from state and central agencies showed that projects were functioning as planned, with no signs of underperformance or risk of being cancelled.
The information was compiled with inputs from multiple organizations involved in renewable energy development, including Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation as well as central agencies such as the Solar Energy Corporation of India, NTPC, NHPC, SJVN, and the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency.
Officials stated that the consistent progress of projects reflects effective coordination between the state and central authorities. It also indicates that Telangana’s renewable energy sector remains stable and on track to contribute to India’s broader clean energy goals.
The announcement highlights confidence in the implementation of renewable projects in Telangana, at a time when the country is focusing on expanding its clean energy capacity and ensuring reliable execution of green power initiatives.
