Adani Green Starts 510 MW Renewable Power Projects in Gujarat
March 23, 2026
Adani Green Energy has commissioned around 510 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy projects at its Khavda site in Gujarat, further expanding one of India’s largest clean energy hubs. The projects were made operational on March 22, 2026, through multiple step-down subsidiaries, with electricity generation beginning the same day after receiving necessary clearances.
The newly operational capacity includes a mix of solar, wind, and hybrid power projects, reflecting a diversified renewable energy approach. Of the total capacity, about 300 MW comes from solar projects, over 140 MW from wind, and around 70 MW from hybrid systems. These projects have been developed across several subsidiaries, each handling different segments of the overall capacity.
With this addition, Adani Green Energy’s total operational renewable capacity has increased to nearly 18 gigawatts (GW), bringing the company close to a major milestone in its expansion plans. The Khavda project in Gujarat is a key part of the company’s long-term strategy and is being developed as one of the world’s largest renewable energy parks, with a planned capacity of up to 30 GW.
The phased commissioning of projects allows the company to gradually add generation capacity while continuing construction on remaining installations. This approach helps improve power supply to the grid and ensures efficient integration of renewable energy.
The development also supports India’s broader clean energy goals, including increasing renewable power capacity and reducing dependence on fossil fuels. Large-scale projects like Khavda are expected to play a key role in meeting the country’s target of expanding non-fossil fuel energy sources in the coming years.
Overall, the commissioning of 510 MW of renewable energy capacity strengthens Adani Green Energy’s position in the sector while contributing to India’s ongoing transition toward sustainable and low-carbon power generation.
