Scaling Sustainability: Trident Group Reaches 57.32 MWp Solar Capacity with New Madhya Pradesh Project
March 28, 2026
Trident Group, a global leader in home textiles and paper manufacturing, has successfully commissioned an additional 5.40 MWp rooftop solar project at its flagship manufacturing facility in Budhni, Madhya Pradesh. This expansion is a key part of the company’s “Phase-III” solar initiative, aimed at reducing its dependence on conventional grid power and significantly lowering its operational carbon footprint. With this latest addition, the total solar power capacity at the Budhni location alone has surged to 57.32 MWp, making it one of the largest captive rooftop installations in the Indian textile sector.
The move comes at a strategic time as industrial power tariffs in Madhya Pradesh continue to evolve, making self-generation a vital tool for cost stability. By utilizing its massive rooftop real estate, Trident is effectively turning passive building assets into active energy generators. The clean energy produced from these panels is used directly for the plant’s high-consumption manufacturing processes—including yarn spinning and towel weaving—ensuring that a significant portion of its global exports are produced using sustainable energy.
This project is a clear reflection of Trident’s broader commitment to “Environmental, Social, and Governance” (ESG) goals. Beyond the immediate financial benefits of lower electricity bills, the massive 57 MWp capacity serves as a benchmark for other large-scale Indian manufacturers. As the industry moves toward “Green Manufacturing” labels to satisfy international retail partners, Trident’s consistent investment in on-site solar infrastructure positions it as a frontrunner in the transition toward a circular and carbon-conscious economy.
